#1 - How It Works – 3 Steps to Get Your Prescription

Ro’s consultations are conveniently done online, starting with a questionnaire about your health history and weight-loss goals. According to Ro, an affiliated provider reviews each questionnaire and may then order the metabolic lab test before determining if you’re eligible for treatment. This test can be collected at your home (at an extra cost) or through one of the testing locations Ro supports.

Once its affiliated provider proves your eligibility, it will write a prescription tailored to your test results and self-reported medical history. According to the company, its team can also provide assistance with determining your insurance coverage at this point, and help with advice if your coverage is denied.

The type of GLP-1 prescription you receive will typically determine how you get your medication as well. Ro states it will ship Zepbound vials directly to your home within 1-4 days, while GLP-1 pen prescriptions will go to your preferred pharmacy for you to pick up.

Your monthly Ro subscription also comes with ongoing support from Ro’s care team via Ro.Co’s apps. Through regular online check-ins, you can talk to providers to report any side effects, track your progress, receive support and guidance, and have your prescription adjusted as needed.

#2 - Programs and Price

Ro provides a personalized GLP-1 treatment program featuring medications like Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Zepbound®. Since every person receives a unique program based on their needs and biological makeup, Ro doesn’t have a tiered plan structure. Instead, every program costs the same – $145 USD/month, and comes with the same features – which includes provider consultation, prescriptions, help handling insurance coverage and paperwork, ongoing telehealth support, and free progress tracking apps.

Every subscription also receives a discount, costing only $45 USD for the first month. It’s important to note that the price of medications aren’t included in Ro’s monthly subscription and will have to be paid separately.

Ro claims its program offers access to licensed healthcare providers who monitor your progress and ensure the appropriate dosage of medications. According to the company, it created its telehealth model with the guidance of a board of advisors made up by physicians, health administrators, professors, and former health care regulators.

Even though these are well-known brands, they do come with side effects, and like any medication, may pose significant health risks depending on your biological setup and prescription.
